As I was leaving home to go out last night, I found myself looking over my shoulder, the streets were a little quieter, and until I reached my destination I felt kind of somber. Then I remembered it was Friday and I had great friends to visit and that life is good and it was nice driving home to the news that the 2nd one was caught. Thanks to all our first responders, God Bless Us All. Amen

Civil society depends on the mental, spiritual and moral health of the stranger. Rule of law is a privilege, a blessing, not a birthright. ~Krista Tippett, from her Twitter feed (via beingblog)
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity. Gilda Radnor (via one-twenty-five)

Hello

Hello

I am sometimes amazed at how

open the world has become.

Good and Bad at the same time I think.

While observing a friend’s break up on social media,

I thought to myself…

Now here’s an area where ya wonder if it’s good or bad.

Oh well, onward…

one-twenty-five:

The moment I feel overwhelmed in life by my ‘to do’ list, yet I lay in bed and do nothing.

HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

We practically can’t do anything without judging. Say, a flower - is it pretty? You almost can’t look at a flower without evaluating it. It’s very hard for you to sit and just be here and let all this stuff happen without judging. Is it good? Is it right? Is it wrong? Will it help me? That’s part of the trap. And so, what gets really exquisite is when you start to watch your own thoughts, and you realize that they’re like birds flying across the blue sky. And when you realise that and you’re finally along on the journey, you’ll notice that your mind is completely empty - mindlessly floating along. It’s all happening. It’s all happening. Oh … wow … No doer, it’s just happening! Ram Dass (via wordslessspoken)
Practice unconditional acceptance of others. This practice is especially powerful in quieting the emotions of the utility appetite: fear, anger, courage, hope, and despair. By accepting other people unconditionally, you discipline the emotions that want to get even with others or to get away from them. You allow people to be who they are with all their idiosyncrasies and with the particular behavior that is disturbing you. Thomas Keating (via wordslessspoken)
Hello…This is me, and these are my new glasses.
With them, I can see things from a whole new perspective.
I wonder if that is good or bad sometimes.
